Northwest Garden Show

Irelands first Community Chef Brian Mc Dermott will once again be cooking up a storm at this year's event demonstrating his award winning talent. Brian has recently been awarded with National Pride of Place Award representing Donegal proving that his Community model is unique and having a sustainable impact on communities. The passionate chef has been cooking professionally for 18 years, and spent most of his career in the professional kitchen within top restaurants and now enjoys giving something back within the community setting.

Brian offers recipes that encompass his traditional home cooked style of cooking and encourages people to grow their own produce and take control of their food. At the Northwest Garden Show 2012 he will demonstrate recipes from his best selling book "Reunite with Food" using the finest of fresh local produce, serving up some savory samples and providing top tips and techniques on improving your diet, reducing salt and growing your own. Brian's work has been praised at local and national level within his profession, by health experts and by community-based bodies.

"Cooking from your own garden is and should be simple, it's great when we harvest our own vegetables and herbs from our garden - What a rewarding feeling, together with a distinctive flavour and improved nutrition. See you all  at the 2012 Northwest Garden Show!" - Community Chef, Brian Mc Dermott
